Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry · Grades 6–10
I work with students in traditional Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry courses who feel overwhelmed or believe they're "not math people." Using the Concrete-Representational-Abstract sequence and Dr. Jo Boaler's Mathematical Mindsets framework, I build genuine conceptual understanding — not just test-day performance.
Grade-level curriculum support · High School
Chemistry introduces an entirely new abstract language that frequently causes capable students to hit a wall. I break down concepts, equations, and lab logic into visual, manageable steps using vocabulary scaffolding and multi-sensory problem-solving routines.
Embedded academic support — not standalone organizational tutoring
I don't offer standalone organizational tutoring. Instead, I weave executive function strategies — task initiation, error analysis, self-advocacy, and study routines — directly into math and chemistry sessions, using the student's real coursework as the practice ground. The goal is independence, not compliance.
True confidence and lasting habits can't be rushed or crammed. My approach relies on building trust, reducing anxiety, and establishing steady routines — which is why I work exclusively in long-term, weekly partnerships with families, typically over a semester or school year.
Best suited for: Families seeking consistent, proactive support to build foundational independence — not a quick fix the night before a major test.
Please note: I support students in standard grade-level courses or those strengthening below-grade-level foundations. I do not tutor accelerated, honors, or AP-level coursework.
I thrive working with:
Collaborative Students: Learners who are ready, even if reluctantly, to engage with support and try new strategies. Real growth comes from their willingness, effort, and participation.
Supportive Families: Parents who value diverse learning profiles, commit to reinforcing routines at home, and partner patiently for long-term progress rather than an immediate quick fix.
If the primary concern is significant behavioral regulation, school refusal, or ongoing emotional dysregulation, families may be better served by a clinician, therapist, or ADHD/behavior specialist.
Tutoring is a team effort. If this sounds like your family, we can make great progress together.
